Episode 8

Anna Wright- What our relationships say about us, learning acceptance and getting to know our inner child.

Published on: 26th February, 2021

Today we hear from Anna Wright. Anna is an actress, playwright and an artist. In this episode Anna shares her journey from, "one catastrophic relationship to another, since the age of 17." This journey has culminated in her becoming a single mother during a global pandemic and national lockdown. Anna very generously shares what that experience has taught her.

Anna references how doing "the work" by author Byron Katie has transformed her life. We work through several examples during our conversation. I found this to be a real lightbulb moment and I'm sure you will be able to apply these questions to some situations in your own life.

There are lots of hilarious parts to this conversation and I am sure you will enjoy it as much as we did. I love Anna's openness and the way she is able to speak so candidly about her life experiences. Anna and I are good friends and that makes this conversation flow easily and beautifully.

You can find out more about Byron Katie here: https://thework.com/ or look for her book 'Loving What Is: Four Questions That Can Change Your Life' from any good book retailer.

About the Podcast

Tipping The Balance
Mental health and happiness is not as simple as arriving at a destination. It takes work everyday. How can we help to tip the balance in favour of our mental health?
We can all admit to wishing we had more balance in our lives. How many times have you said, "I just don't have the right balance at the moment." Maybe you think you need to work less, have more (or less!) time with your children, get outside more, exercise more, eat more healthily. What ever it is you and almost everyone else has an idea of what balance means to them, their lives and their mental health.

'Tipping the balance,' explores these concepts with a range of different people. Parents, business owners, people living with grief, overcoming abuse, mental health specialists. We have it all here and I hope you can listen to these shows and feel in someway you have spent time tipping the balance in favour of your own mental health.
